Alarm systems have evolved beyond traditional door chimes and keypads. Nowadays, property protection systems are so advanced that you can see in real time who’s at your door, even when you’re not home. You can receive home security notifications and alerts that detail everything from unlocked doors to gas leaks.

Wireless Home Security Notifications

There are four important wireless home security notifications that you should know about. Each plays an integral role in keeping your home, your valuables and your family safe. You can receive these notifications on your Smartphone, tablet and computer, ensuring that you remain connected to your home’s security even when you’re out of the house.

Security notification

1) Arm and disarmament
You’ll get notified each time your alarm system is armed or disarmed. You can also arm and disarm your system without being home. This is perfect for those times when you need to let a service technician in while you’re at work. You don’t have to be home to let someone in or to lock up after they leave.

2) Window and door sensors
These notifications are sent to you if a sensor is tripped. For example, if you leave your front door open or forget to close a window, you’ll be notified ASAP. These sensors can also be set up to detect when safes, locked medicine cabinets, cellars and other areas that need to remain protected are left open. You can even set up these window and doors sensors in your garage to let you know if the door is ajar longer than it takes to park a car.

3) Thermostat, leaks and fires
These notifications deal exclusively with temperature and gas safety. If the temperature drops unexpectedly in your home because of a thermostat malfunction, you’ll know. If there’s a gas leak, you’ll find out right away. You can also change the temperature from your phone if you forget to turn the heat off or want to turn it on as you leave work so you’re not coming home to a freezing house. Moreover, these notifications let you know if there’s a fire or flood.

4) Power loss
If there’s a power outage in your home, you’ll receive notifications letting you know. Furthermore, you’ll be informed when the power goes back on.
